Hi! My name is Yahli Ilan, and I’m an NYC-based creative. I graduated from NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study in May of 2024, and since March of 2025, I have been enrolled in the Interior and Architectural Design Software Certificate Program at Parsons School of Design to continue my education. Alongside this program, I’ve gained experience across set design, creative production, photography, and visual content work. This portfolio brings together projects from my design studies as well as other creative work, reflecting the range of ways I like to explore visuals, space, and storytelling.

01.Project A

AutoCad / 2025
As my final project for my autocad course, I created a layout of an apartment to demonstrate my skills.

A comprehensive drafting study of a West Village townhouse, this project includes a dimensioned floor plan, furniture layout, reflected ceiling plan, and interior elevations. Developed to emphasize spatial clarity, proportion, and circulation, the drawings reflect a disciplined approach to detailing and a sensitivity to how architectural elements, lighting, and furnishings shape the experience of the home.

02.Project B

SketchUp / 2025
By the end of my SketchUp course, i had completed an apartment presentation showcasing usage of several SketchUp commands and tools.

This concept study explores the spatial, material, and atmospheric qualities of a West Village apartment through a full SketchUp model and rendered suite. Beginning with drafted plans and elevations, the project develops into a cohesive interior narrative supported by a moodboard that blends vintage references, warm woods, and soft, diffused lighting. The model articulates how proportion, sightlines, and material relationships shape daily living—from the intimate living room composition to the kitchen’s layered detailing and the terrace connection. Renderings emphasize natural light, tonal balance, and the interplay between architectural elements and collected objects.

03.Project C

Adobe InDesign / 2025
One of my assignments in my Adobe InDesign course was to create a booklet that demonstrates an effective use of typography and visual hierarchy.

This editorial booklet was designed as an exercise in visual storytelling, using typography, hierarchy, and layout to create a sense of place. Across the ten-page sequence, large serif headlines and generous negative space establish an elegant, immersive tone, while a consistent grid guides the interplay between imagery and text. Full-bleed photography (seen on pages 1, 4, 6, and 10) grounds the narrative in atmosphere, and restrained body copy placement maintains clarity and rhythm. The design strategy centers on pacing—inviting the reader to slow down, linger on each spread, and experience Tuscany through a balance of expressive typography and warm, sensory visuals.

04.Project D

Set Design / 2025
I collaborated on the set design for a podcast photoshoot, developing a versatile visual space that supported both the cover imagery and wider promotional content.

This project involved designing the visual environment for a podcast photoshoot, creating a set that could translate seamlessly across cover art and broader promotional assets. Working closely with the creative team, I developed a spatial concept that balanced atmosphere, branding, and functionality—shaping the mood through curated furnishings, color palette, and composition. The set was designed to frame the host naturally, provide versatility for multiple crop formats, and establish a visual identity that extends beyond the shoot itself. The result is a cohesive suite of images that anchor the podcast’s storytelling and serve as the foundation for its marketing presence.

Production Assistance / Misc.
I helped produce photoshoots for a range of fashion brands and creative projects, coordinating logistics and supporting the creative team throughout the shoot process.

I have supported the production of photoshoots across fashion and music, working on sets for brands such as Bella Venice and Les Miss, as well as on shoots for the recording artist Maeve. My role often included coordinating pre-shoot logistics, preparing sets, managing details on the day of the shoot, and ensuring the creative team had what they needed to execute the vision smoothly. This experience strengthened my ability to work collaboratively, anticipate needs on set, and contribute to shoots that are both visually compelling and efficiently run.

Personal Photography / Misc.
This is a selection of my personal photography, which informs my creativity and sharpens my eye for composition, light, and mood.

My personal photography is really just me paying attention to things that catch my eye—light, textures, quiet moments, little details in a space. It’s not something I do professionally, but it’s become a big part of how I notice and understand visuals. Taking photos helps me figure out what I’m drawn to, and that ends up influencing how I approach design and creative work overall.

Personal Art / Misc.
A selection of my pencil drawings, included as another part of my creative practice and how I work through ideas visually.

Drawing has always been a quiet hobby for me, but it naturally supports the rest of my creative work. Most of what I make are simple pencil sketches—small studies in form, detail, and observation. It’s a way for me to stay connected to working by hand and to explore ideas in a more intuitive, unstructured way. This practice adds another layer to how I think visually and how I approach design and creative problem-solving.
